Yampa Valley Sustainability Council will be joining us at Butcherknife, with Paul Komor, CU Boulder Adjunct Faculty Member in the Department of Environmental Studies.
The global energy system is undergoing dramatic and exciting changes. Renewables are growing at a phenomenal rate, energy efficient technologies are popping up worldwide, and innovative energy technologies (such as distributed storage and smart thermostats) all point to a sustainable energy future.
Why is this happening, seemingly all of a sudden? (And why did it take so long?) Are these changes happening quickly enough to stabilize the climate? Are we on the right path, and what might cause us to fall off it?
In this talk I’ll discuss how and why the energy system is changing, present the latest data on energy trends and technologies, and lead a discussion of future energy trends, risks, and opportunities.
Yes, it’s really been a year already.
